This is a new mutated form of P. Coronarium. Does not grow any shields.

Platycerium 'charles alford'


This photo I took of my specimen as it develops a new fertile frond. This cultivar is interesting how it forms all the small tips on the end of the fronds.


In these photos are the spore patches of Platycerium 'charles alford' It develops one patch on each fertile frond. They will turn brown when they are ready.

Platycerium 'jimmy davis'

This is a specimen Platycerium 'jimmy davis' This is a cultivar with Platycerium ellisii. The shields crest at the top unlike ellisii. Most of the year the shields are green. This is an easy fern to grow Rare in cultivation.


Platycerium Mt lewis

Platycerium Mt lewis grows in Norther Queensland Australia. Named after one of the mountains that is grows on Mt lewis. There are 3 form of this species in cultivation.

Platycerium bifurcatum grows in the south of Australia QLD and as you make your way into the north bifurcatum is said to become P. mt lewis. Not enough DNA work has been done to say if P. mt lewis is or is not a form of P. bifurcatum. P. willinckii does not grow in the wild of Austrailia.
